wisdom:

to apply your heart to understanding (mosiah 12:27)

...tonight at institute we discussed the "head to heart gap" and the dangers of superficial church membership. check out what elder wirthlin has to say about this:

"Unfortunately, some in the Church
may believe sincerely that their testimony is a
raging bonfire
when it really is little more than the
faint flickering of a candle."

so how do we ensure that our testimonies are raging bonfires as opposed to flickering candles? how do we not get confused--thinking we are faithful, strong, and committed Latter-Day Saints, when really, we are nothing more than measly flickering lights...?

Jacob's counsel:
Repent
Come with full purpose of heart
Cleave unto God
Harden not your heart
Be nourished by the good word of God

O be wise; what can I say more?
(Jacob 6:5-8,12)

:) i'm so glad you got into this blogging thing... you'll be blessed for following elder ballard's counsel: "may I ask that you join the conversation by participating on the Internet, particularly the New Media, to share the gospel and to explain in simple, clear terms the message of the Restoration. Most of you already know that if you have access to the Internet you can start a blog in minutes and begin sharing what you know to be true."
Bless you! :)

I actually didn't have much to say to this one except that I think about the people who think that crying means they're feeling the spirit... So I think it's the same thing: just don't be silly about it. (That sounds kinda harsh, but I didn't mean it to be harsh)
