always a reason

i am slowly (but surely) learning to recognize promptings from the holy ghost. i am also learning that when i receive a prompting to do something, there is always a reason for it.

this morning i did 2 things without knowing the reasons why. but by the end of the day i knew. it was cool to have obeyed first, and learned why after.

first thing: i unplugged my computer.

last night i tried to log in to my email but the internet wasnt working. this morning i tried again but it still wasnt working. i soon realized that it wasnt the internet that was having issues...it was my wireless adapter! i figured i'd have to take it in to the fix-it place later in the afternoon, especially if i wanted the use of my computer over the long weekend. i had a thought to unplug everything and get it ready to go. i didnt know why but i did it anyways.

my last class was at 3. before it started i called cam to ask if i could get the car from her at 4. but then we decided it was more convenient for her to take me to the fix-it place as opposed to giving me the car right away and having me take it myself. so in order to be more time efficient i asked cam if she could pick up my computer before my class got out and then we could go straight to the fix-it place from campus! she said yes! but if i hadnt unplpugged everything before i left for school it would've been such a hassle for her to have done it herself. :)

second thing: i uploaded all the mission call pictures back onto my camera.

notice i said back onto my camera? last night i transfered them all to my computer. but this morning i had a thought to put them back on to my camera. it seemed kinda strange and i had no idea why i was doing it but i did it anyways.

so...i took my computer to the fix-it place and it wouldnt even turn on. long story short: my computer wasnt even booting up so they gave me an upgrade and had all the files transfered over. it took a really long time but finally finished and after bringing it home and attempting to connect it all up, i realized that the upgrade required different connections. and that meant that my keyboad and mouse would not fit. so here i was, without a computer for the entire weekend...exactly what i was trying to avoid in the first place! how ironic.

BUT, because i had my pictures on my camera, i still had access to them. and i didnt have to wait a whole 3-day weekend to get the pictures back. i could show them to whoever i wanted and even work on my mission call post. and that was the reason for uploading the pictures back onto my camera.

i was grateful for these experiences. :)
