just do it

lately ive been thinking/hearing a lot about goals. in church this past sunday somebody (i forget who) said,

"Discipline is the bridge between
goals and accomplishment."

i thought it was so good i wrote it down! and today in my personal study i read president uchtdorf's talk Two Principles for Any Economy. in it, he quoted president monson:

It is not enough to want to make
the effort and to say we’ll make the
effort...It’s in the doing, not just the
thinking, that we accomplish our goals.
If we constantly put our goals off,
we will never see them fulfilled.”

so today ive decided to be more disciplined and to DO, not just think. if i wanna see my goals fulfilled, and if this is "all it takes", im willing to do it. :) future goals, here i come!

ive found that many times in my life thats what it comes ddown to. just doing it. and not waiting. however many times it takes some sort of catalyst like deadlines or fear of punishment to get me going. I hate the "when i was on my mission" stories but i do recall many of my moments of just doing were so intense. it was a tet and no one but me and God knew. sometimes i failed but most times i jus threw myself at it and it was gratifying to have leaned and accomplished. its scary tho. i dont knwo if i could do it again but its done:) i did it!i think when you get to that point it was be exhilarating and fun and scary terrifying horrifying and you will feel growth but mostly just good knowing that you didnt second guess God and youre proving everyday that youre on His side;)
