peter

today was a crazy busy day. this was my schedule:

5:00 scriptures/conf talk/breakfast/get ready
5:45 temple with meags
8:00 324 reading/blackboard quiz
9:00 nanosieve measurements in the cleanroom
10:00 class: 324
11:00 class: 464
12:00 464 homework (due by 5)
1:00 class: 281
2:00 work meeting with my boss
3:00 run some errands
3:30 help rach/mauri with homework
5:00 email my visiting teaching district
5:30 go to the gym
6:00 eat dinner/get ready for vball game
7:00 byu mens vball
9:15 watch elf

as you can see, i was on a very tight schedule. i had things to do, people to see, places to go, and if i wanted to do it all i had to stick to my schedule. :)

WELL...not very many things worked out as planned. but everything worked out! let me tell you how my day really went.
  • meags was running late in picking me up for the temple => i had time to make my lunch (one of my goals this week!)
  • we didnt go inside the temple til 7 => we had a very nice sister-to-sister chat. i think it was needed for both of us.
  • my 324 quiz/homework/email checking took longer than id planned => no time to go into the cleanroom before my 10 o'clock class. :o
  • 324 class got out early => i pulled out my 464 homework to work on it.
  • dr. jensen went over one of the homework problems in class => one less problem to figure out before turning it in!
  • went into the cleanroom between 464 and 281 to do my nanosieve measurements instead of working on my 464 assignment => i finished my work assignment before my 2 o'clock meeting!
  • on the way to physics i ran into a guy from my freshman year and we were chatting about the ee program (he's gonna apply after finishing the pre-reqs). we talked for kinda a long time! but i didnt wanna be rude and just leave when he was all excited about the program. => i was late for class BUT steven pointed out that the iClicker quiz was still running...so i got credit even though i was late! :D
  • 281 class got early => i had time to print out the file for work, turn it into dr. hawkins, and ask to be excused from my 2 o'clock meeting.
  • instead of going to my work meeting and running errands i worked on my 464 homework with steven. i didnt finish by 5 but dr. jensen said we could turn it in on monday.
  • meags told me the vball game was at 6:30 instead of 7 => i didnt have time to go home, workout, eat dinner, email my girls and be back on campus in time for the game BUT i did get to help mauri with his homework.
  • the game ended at quarter to 9 but i decided not to go to elf => on my way to the bus i ran into peter. :) and his words basically summed up my day:
It'll all work out.

so you see, sometimes we make plans. but oftentimes things dont work out as we'd planned for them to. and thats okay...because somehow, someway, things always work out.

your post made me think that i need to have a better plan for each day... because your things worked out because you made an effort to get everything done that you planned. heavenly father makes up the difference when we can't. but when there's no plan, there's nothing to help with...

i should plan.
