memories

this morning i did habitat for humanity with my ward. it reminded me of home, building our house, and especially dad:

the construction lingo

the yellow square...thats actually a triangle

drywall: measure, cut, nail, measure, cut, nail, measure, cut....it never ends

trusses, headers, blocking, two-by-fours

stubborn nails that wont pound in and have to be pulled out

the bench ladders

the power tools

the flat, funny-looking pencils

the red chalk line that gets all over your hands and clothes

the triangle marks (instead of lines) at every stud

"measure twice, cut once"

nails all over the place

sound familiar, guys? :p i was happy to be able to provide service. and it made for good reminiscing. :D
