my name

there's something about people (outside of my circle) knowing/saying my name that i just cant seem to get over. i love it when people remember (or in some cases simply even know) my name. now when i say "people" i mean people i dont really know, or who i've just recently (or havent even) met, or who ive never heard say my name before. its a big deal when someone remembers my name! especially with my name...its not that easy to remember! today i can think of 7 times this happened.

i met brandon yesterday and saw him on my way to school today. we stopped to say hi. and he knew my name! i didnt even know he knew.

in class this morning josh said my name. we've been in the same class since the beginning of the semester and we've talked plenty of times before, but ive never heard him say it...so i didnt know if he even knew it. but now i know he does.

at the wilk i ran into anil. i just like him - his personality, his testimony, his kindness, his character, his obedience - and i have a lot of respect for him. it was nice to hear my name from him.

dr.nordin was one of my professors from last school year. he passed through the clubhouse this afternoon while i was working and said "hi lynnell." just like that. he remembers my name!

when i was at the gym i saw steven. i see him pretty much every day...but its one thing for someone to just say "hey"...and its a completely different thing for someone to say "hey [name]." he did the second one. and thats SO much better than the first.

at the movies cam and i ran into ryan, our old hometeacher from like 2 years ago. he was with his wife so he introduced us to her...by name! he didnt even stumble or have to think about it. i was impressed.

in the theatre i heard "hey lynnell" and turned to see devin, the eq pres from my old ward. i like it when people from past wards say hi to me...and its ten times better when they remember my name!

so you see, its such a simple thing...and it may seem odd to you...but it sure means a lot to me. :)

its the simple things that make all the difference.
